How To Remove Black Mold From Your Bathroom?

If you have black mold anywhere in your bathroom then you definitely have a problem. In most cases, people deal with mold by applying bleach to it which honestly does nothing but mask the issue. Yes, bleach does not get rid of the mold completely because, in a few months, it comes back.

It’s also super annoying because it can grow anywhere – from the ceiling and the walls to the shower drain, the curtains, or even on the grout – and it spreads pretty quickly. This is why you need to figure out exactly how to get rid of it once and for all so it does not come back in a few months.

How To Prevent Mold?

Before we get to the removal part, I want to focus on prevention because it’s just as important as removing the mold.

As you probably know, mold grows in damp and humid places which is why bathrooms are so ideal. In order to prevent this from happening, control the humidity in the room at all times by using the ventilation fan, opening the window after taking a shower, or opening the door.

How To Remove Black Mold?

Give the following removal methods a try:

  • Spray distilled white vinegar on the affected areas, let them sit for 30 minutes before you scrub with a brush. Then spray once again, let it sit for another 30 minutes before you rinse.

  • Mix 2 tablespoons of borax, 1/4 cup of vinegar, two cups of hot water then apply the mixture to the affected areas. Continue with scrubbing with a scouring sponge. Repeat as many times as necessary then just let the mixture dry.

  • Mix equal parts of water and bleach then spray it directly onto the affected area and let it dry completely. Do not scrub.

Then mix vinegar, baking soda, and borax – spray it on the affected area and let it dry!
